Hi Renaud,
The GMRC is focused on solar climate intervention/solar radiation modification, including SAI, MCB, and CCT. A more in-depth explanation is given on the website at https://www.cgd.ucar.edu/projects/gmrc/. Hope this helps! Are you working only on SRM-SAi and SRM-MCB? Other SRM techniques? Are you also working in Greenhouse gas removal? CDR, and Methane -Removal? and N2O-Removal? etc.? I’ve attached a placeholder one to use until we sort out the registration and call-in options. Thanks! Thank you to everyone that took part in those meetings! A draft of the article is available upon request (and in confidence). Secondly, we would like to announce that Doug MacMartin and Trude Storelvmo have joined the GMRC steering group, effective November 1st, while Jean-François Lamarque will be stepping down. This is part of the annual rotation of the steering group, but also signals its expansion beyond the US. Finally, following review of the suggestions made at and since the last GMRC meeting, and in light of the ongoing remote work situation, we have decided to try something different for future GMRC meetings with the aim of fostering collaboration and awareness of the work going on across the community. We are planning to hold a 90-minute GMRC forum on the first Wednesday of every month, with each forum loosely based on a single topic. The topics are intended to be a little more specific than might be typical for topic areas at conferences (e.g. “microphysical simulation of MCB-relevant aerosol”, or “deciding the next GLENS-like simulation”). Each topic will need to have at least one speaker who is interested in presenting, with a maximum of two slides and five minutes per speaker. Slides and speaker details will be made available online at the GMRC website to encourage follow-up discussion. We expect to hold the first talk on Wednesday January 6th [CORRECTED] at 11 am Eastern time. This time was chosen with the goal of allowing researchers from both Europe and the entire of the US to participate. Since awareness raising, collaboration, and open discussion are the goals, we will be inviting people to speak not only about completed results but also (and maybe more importantly) on work currently in progress or even open questions or available proposals. With that in mind, we are soliciting topic ideas from the community. You do not need to be willing to present on a topic to suggest it, but if you are indeed willing to do so then please let us know. Please send your suggestions to [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> by December 4th for consideration. Our aim is to have the topic for each forum announced at least one month ahead of time, at which point we will solicit presentations on the topic in question.
