Hi everyone! I bring to you a small list of recent videos on the topics of geoengineering.
There's a playlist with more videos on topic, you can check it here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLF8369A27273314D8 Enjoy! Hope we all have a great coming week. *Geoengineering: in case of emergency, break glass lecture* https://youtu.be/lv_lRdI7xoY?list=PLF8369A27273314D8 by IET This October our next EngTalk debates the critical topic of Geoengineering. Planet earth is facing an imminent climate emergency, a future of unprecedented life-changing events that need urgent solutions. In the wake of this crisis, what options do we have? Geoengineering is the large-scale intervention of the earth’s climate systems with the aim to counteract climate change, could this solution reverse large-scale greenhouse-gas production? If so, what are the proposed techniques and are they even safe to test? Join the debate on 25 October when we welcome Rupert Read, academic, Green Party campaigner and Pete Irvine, lecturer in climate science in the Earth Sciences department of UCL. This EngTalk will see Rupert, Pete and the audience discuss all angles of a debate that affects both humanity and the future of our planet. *Future Scientists webinar - Frank Biermann* https://youtu.be/nMmlD9pIiV4?list=PLF8369A27273314D8 by Scientists for Future NL 'Future Scientists' is a webinar series organised by Scientists4Future Netherlands. Climate engineering: Should we “geo-engineer” our way out of the climate crisis? Frank Biermann is a research professor of Global Sustainability Governance with the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development at Utrecht University, The Netherlands. He is an internationally leading scholar of global institutions and organizations in the sustainability domain. Biermann pioneered the ‘earth system’ governance paradigm in global change research in 2005 and was the founder and first chair (2008-2018) of the Earth System Governance Project, a leading global transdisciplinary research network of sustainability scholars. He currently directs a 2.5-million EUR research programme on the steering effects of the Sustainable Development Goals, supported by an European Research Council ‘Advanced Grant’.Questions by the audience are welcomed through Mentimeter. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "geoengineering" group.
