*Geoengineering: in case of emergency, break glass lecture*

by IET

This October our next EngTalk debates the critical topic of Geoengineering.
Planet earth is facing an imminent climate emergency, a future of
unprecedented life-changing events that need urgent solutions. In the wake
of this crisis, what options do we have?
Geoengineering is the large-scale intervention of the earth’s climate
systems with the aim to counteract climate change, could this solution
reverse large-scale greenhouse-gas production? If so, what are the
proposed techniques and are they even safe to test?
Join the debate on 25 October when we welcome Rupert Read, academic, Green
Party campaigner and Pete Irvine, lecturer in climate science in the Earth
Sciences department of UCL.
This EngTalk will see Rupert, Pete and the audience discuss all angles of a
debate that affects both humanity and the future of our planet.
