    Dear all,
please find below the Description of this SRM-related session at
the AGU Fall Meeting 2022 that will be held in Chicago (and
    virtually) 12-16 December 2022.
We look forward to your abstracts! The abstract submission
    deadline is *3 August (23:59 EDT/03:59 +1 GMT)*.

*GC012. Advances in Solar Radiation Modification (SRM) Research*

    *Session Description:*
Persistent CO2 emission growth casts some doubt over the chance of
stabilizing Earth's temperature over the next decades through
emission cuts alone. Solar Radiation Modification (SRM, also known
as Geoengineering or Climate Intervention) proposes to temporarily
modify Earth's radiation budget to reduce the effects of climate
change in the near term alongside decarbonization. Common proposed
SRM methods include stratospheric aerosol injection (SAI), marine
cloud brightening (MCB), cirrus cloud thinning, and surface albedo
modification. Climate Intervention governance must be grounded in
a solid basis of natural science and engineering research which
quantifies the feasibility, risks, and benefits of each proposal.
We welcome all contributions focusing on the advancements in
natural science of climate engineering, including climate modeling
    studies, ecological impacts, engineering investigations,
experimental results, and analogue observations (e.g. volcanoes,
ship tracks).  We also encourage broader scope studies that
connect the climatic and ecological impacts with the economic,
social, political, or ethical implications of Climate
    Intervention, and abstracts from underrepresented
communities/locations who may be disproportionately affected by
    climate change.
