I’m happy to announce that Dr. Jesse Reynolds the Executive Secretary of the recently created Climate Overshoot Commission will be our special guest at the HPAC meeting Thursday, Sept 8th at 12:00 PM Central Time.

Please circulate this invitation to your colleagues. We will have an opportunity to hear from Dr. Reynolds followed by Q&A and discussion. The independent Climate Overshoot Commission comprises very senior officials from 13 countries including four former Heads of State. Its mission isto consider the risks of exceeding the 1.5° C Paris goal and to recommend a strategy to reduce those risks. A final report is expected by COP 28 near the end of 2023. He is the author of The Governance of Solar Geoengineering: Managing Climate Change in the Anthropocene (Cambridge University Press). Prior to his position at the Climate Overshoot Commission, Dr. Reynolds was an Emmett / Frankel Fellow in Environmental Law and Policy at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law.
