Mike, I agree with your observations and would only add that the authors like so many others seem to be living in a world of severe climate denial when they say:
“Given this mitigation gap, global warming may lead to intolerable climate changes as adaptive capacity is exceeded.” Is there anyone with even a modicum of empathy and humanity who would argue that Pakistan -or name your country - has not already experienced intolerable climate changes and whose adaptive capacity has not already been exceeded?
