Grants of up to USD 75,000 are available for research teams from this region interested in undertaking climate modelling research to understand what solar radiation modification (SRM) could mean for their local climate. *See full eligibility requirements here. <https://www.degrees.ngo/central-america-and-mexico-call-for-proposals-2023/>* Putting developing countries at the centre of the SRM conversation requires informed and confident representation from across the Global South. To date, the Degrees Modelling Fund (DMF) has actively funded research projects in 21 developing countries across Latin America, Africa and Asia, yet there have been no DMF projects in the region of Central America and Mexico. This new special call for proposals sets out to fill this gap. The DMF is the first international SRM modelling fund and the first aimed exclusively at scientists in developing countries and emerging economies. Successful applicants will join a diverse global community which includes some of the world’s top SRM modelling experts. DMF teams get the opportunity to work closely with these experts and colleagues worldwide throughout the duration of their projects, benefiting from South–South and South–North collaboration and networking opportunities.
