Renaud and Geo

Thanks for the story. Np complaints from me on a private sector actor
becoming the sector leader - given the international funding failure we just
saw at COP30..

I also read the original of your (excised below) today story (which has
many more graphics). See:
https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2025/11/21/stardust-geoengineering-janos-pasztor-regulations-00646414

Surprisingly, I found that story began a few months ago - and has also
been pretty well discussed on some Geo subgroups, which generally endorsed the
article, the company (Stardust), and the approach.

But my Google AI search also turned up an earlier this month similar
(MIT) article, that I have NOT seen mentioned at all:
  https://davidkeith.earth/focus-area-term/solar-geoengineering/
https://davidkeith.earth/focus-area-term/solar-geoengineering/

Dr. Keith (the person I have found most credible in this Geo area) had
this very negative comment earlier this month about the Stardust approach:
"But it’s nonsense for the company to claim they can make particles that
are inert in the stratosphere. Even diamonds, which are extraordinarily
nonreactive, would alter stratospheric chemistry. First of all, much of that
chemistry depends on highly reactive radicals that react with any solid
surface, and second, any particle may become coated by background sulfuric acid
in the stratosphere. That could accelerate the loss of the protective ozone
layer by spreading that existing sulfuric acid over a larger surface area."

So the upcoming Stardust release on their (still secret until a patent is
released) proposed alternative compound will be most interesting.

Regardless of that outcome, there is agreement that there will be no
planes flying for at least five years (or maybe 10?). Renaud - thanks again
for an interesting alert.
