The Department of Geography, Urban, Environment & Sustainability Studies,
College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota, Duluth is seeking a
One Year Sabbatical Replacement, Assistant Professor/Instructor in
Geography. This position requires the person to teach 7 courses for the
school year, three for Fall Semester and four for Spring Semester. Classes
to be taught include Physical Geography, Environmental Conservation,
Weather and Climate, Geography of Soils, plus courses in the candidate's
specialty. Duties and responsibilities may include service to the
Department and/or College. Term of appointment: Fall term: August 25, 2014
- January 7, 2015, Spring 2015 term January 8, 2015 - May 24, 2015.
Required Qualifications: MA or MS in Geography or a related field from a
regionally accredited institution; one year of teaching at the collegiate
level (graduate Teaching Assistant experience acceptable). Ability to teach
the following courses Physical Geography, Environmental Conservation,
Weather and Climate, and Geography of Soils. Applicant must demonstrate
written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Ph.D. in Geography
or a related field from a regionally-accredited institution. Two years of
teaching at the collegiate level (graduate Teaching Assistant experience
acceptable). Evidence of effective communication skills and experience
