*Assistant Professorships in Global Studies (2)*

The Department of Political Science at the National University of Singapore
invites applications for two tenure-track Assistant Professorships in
Global Studies, understood as the study of globalisation. A senior tenured
appointment may be possible for suitably qualified candidates. Candidates
should have a PhD in Political Science or a related discipline. We are
especially interested in applicants with an interdisciplinary research
orientation and an analytic focus on actors other than the state.
Candidates with research interests in the following fields are particularly
welcome: human rights; ethnicity and religion; war and security. A list of

 The Department (http://www.fas.nus.edu.sg/pol/) has a strong faculty of
about twenty-five working in all areas of political science, broadly
defined. Faculty members normally teach three courses per academic year and
supervise honours and graduate research students. Compensation is
competitive and includes eligibility for annual performance bonuses and
salary increments, subsidized housing, medical benefits, and substantial
research support. Faculty and students can take advantage of resources in
the Asia Research Institute, the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, the
Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, the Yale-NUS Liberal Arts College,
and various research institutes including the Asia-Europe Foundation and
the Institutes of Asian and South-East Asian Studies as well as other parts
