Assistant Professor, Department of Geography

Tenure-track faculty position available August 21, 2015.

Responsibilities:  teach undergraduate and graduate courses in applied
meteorology, climatology, and other introductory geography courses;
develop quality research agenda in the field(s) of specialization;
contribute actively to the intellectual and professional life of the
department, college, university and surrounding community, especially in
disseminating the local weather and climate information to the community.

Minimum qualifications:  Ph.D. in Physical
Geography/Meteorology/Atmospheric Sciences or closely related
disciplines (ABD in these fields will be considered but Ph.D. must be
completed by August 1, 2015); demonstrated commitment to quality
teaching, research, service and evidence of scholarly productivity.

Preferred qualifications:  ability to teach courses in
meteorology/climatology, spatial statistics, and geographic techniques;
strong meteorological forecasting skills; demonstrated ability to
conduct research in area of interest.
