I was interested in seeing the comments on Mapplot bugs
within OASIS montaj, because it offers an opportunity to
describe how Geosoft approaches bug handling. It is
simply this, All bugs will be fixed.

To explain a little more, the order in which bugs are fixed is
dependant upon what R&D is working on, where we are
within the Release cycle, and the Priority of the bug. The
following is the sequence that occurs when a bug is found
and/or reported to us.

1. All bugs are logged into our Bug Tracking System.
2. They are assigned a unique number.
3. They are assigned a priority.
4. The bug is passed on to R&D.
5. The bug is fixed for a Service Pack or Release.

Here is an excerpt from our Support manual on how we
assign the "Priority" to a bug. A bug with a 5 priority is the
highest and 1 is the lowest.

5 Is a very high priority bug. The user cannot complete a
task or process which is critical to his/her work. No work
around available. This could require a service pack to be
released if deemed necessary or MUST be fixed for next
     service pack.

4 Is a high priority bug. The user cannot complete a task or
process. The user can work without this or there is a work
around for the problem. Should be fixed for the next
     service pack.

3 Is a moderate priority. It is a bug, a normal everyday bug.
A process, GX or function not working correctly. Not critical,
workaround available or can work without it. Most likely
     added to next service pack.

2 Is a low priority bug. Could be an annoying problem or one
that works almost perfect, but, work around available, not
even close to being critical. May be in next service pack.

1 Is a very low priority bug. Does not effect any process or
function. Best example I could come up with would be a
spelling mistake in a GX. May be in next service pack.

I hope this information is useful.
