Mansour - did you really send that e-mail at 4:45am?
We are good at hiding things in the menus (sorry). There is a differences
GX in the X-Utility/Filters menu. Select 1 difference, no normalization.
However, as Louis pointed out, this changes the start location of the
difference channel by one-half a sample separation. Another way to use the
convolution filter and obtain the same sampling is to use asymmetric filters
line (0,1,-1) or (-1,1,0), which place the difference between the current
point and the next or previous respectively in the result channel without
the apparent sample shift.

1. Create a channel in your GDB (dummytime).
2. Go to X-Utility > Expressions > Expression:
type: "dummytime=time-time".
This will place zero at each point in the new "dummytime" channel.
3. Go to Utility > Make distance channel: In the dialogue box:
For "Existing X channel: type "time"
For "Existing Y channel: type "dummytime"
For "Output distance channel: type "timediff"
This would calculate the differences of each point in the time channel
and place them in the timediff channel.

To: Tom Cutbertson of Geosoft: While we are brainstorming this subject,
could we place this as a feed back to implement a GX (e.g. Make difference
channel) in the up coming versions of the Oasis montaj? I am sure it would
be just a minor modification to the existing "Make distance channel" GX.
