It looks like 3D displays such as Marc Pelletier described have a lot of
appeal - it certainly does to me. From an implementation prespective, this
is a nontrivial task. However, starting with a generic 3D viewer and gluing
it into Oasis might be a plausible approach (why write another 3D viewer?).
My #1 item on the wish list is a grid editor. I would like to see something
that works in map view and allows one to either shape the surface and get
quick feedback in the form of contours or allows one to edit the contours
and then rebuilds the surface from the edited contours.
We scoured the marketplace for such a tool last year and didn't find one
that was both capable and affordable. So, we implemented one in another
in-house product. However, if such a thing lived in Oasis montaj, I
wouldn't have to maintain the one I have now!
