According to the help file in Geosoft, I should be able to export a grid file to ArcView using something denoted as "flt" format. Apparently this is a binary format. I used the Grid -> Copy/Convert option to convert from a Geosoft grid (GRD) to the ArcView (FLT) format. In Geosoft the operation seemed to go fine and I was able to access the FLT file using the Grid Info option. ArcView 3.2 (3D Spatial Analyst) does not, however, seem to like the file. I get an error with a message referring to something called SpGrid and a syntax error. The bottom line is that it did not work. I tried to export a map as an ArcView shape file. Geosoft produced a variety of files and ArcView seemed to read them but there was no information in them. My objective here is really pretty simple and that is to get a file that can be readily imported into ArcView. I would actually prefer to be able to have it be a grid file rather than a map file just to avoid the extra stuff that goes with a map file. Has anyone done this with success and if so, how? I am running ArcView 3.2 with 3D analyst and Oasis 4.3 SP 2 (I never did go to SP 3 because of all of the problems people were having). ******************************************************************************* Joseph (Joe) S.
