Hi Nick,
I too was left a little unsatisfied with Geosoft's histogram tools(like you,
visually unappeling, not much help) so I created a gx called gridhist that
takes a user-specified grid and colour transform and creates a frequency vs
amplitude histogram for the grid. It comes out in, I think, a letter sized
map so you can print it out. If your so inclined, I'm sure you can modify
the code to work the way you want it. Contact me at the address below if
