Dear Mark,

The easiest way around this problem is to:
1)  use GRIDCOPY GX to convert the Surfer GRD to a Geosoft FLOAT GRID (i.e after file extension type in the output grid file dialog type "(GRD;Type=Float)"
2) In ermapper use import- geosoft binary grid and select the geosoft "float" grid  you created and a create a .ers file.
Make sure you specify the correct Datum and projection of the data.

This should give you a correctly georeferenced .ers file.

Hope this helps

Matt

Subject: [geonet]: Oasis montaj 5.0 question

Dear Sirs

I have converted a surfer V6 grid to a ER mapper (*.ers) grid using Oasis montaj 5.0 but the co-ordinates have been altered. When this is grid is displayed in Mapimagery and ER mapper Y co-ordinates of the grid appear to have been inverted for example, co-ordinates 0,100 and 0,0 have changed to 0,0 and 0,100 ?

Can you help me!

Regards
