I am working on GX's to handle TEM data taken with an automated Zonge
GDP32ii.  We will acquire 3 channels of 31 windows.  I understand your
desparation at using the standard Montaj functions.

In another month or two I expect to have a reasonable set of GX's to handle
our data for the things we want do with it.  That may not suit you precisely
but I might be willing to build custom GX's and to offer the ones we already
have.  In this I AM a programmer out there who could write this.

I've just now discovered something that you may or may not already know,
and that is that you can apply the standard spreadsheet expressions and
filters to individual array elements.  For example, you can run the
expression

out[10]=sqrt(in[10]);

If you're building GS files, this may make things a bit easier.  At least
you're back to four data channels instead of eighty.  I haven't found a way
to do multiple elements with a single command (in[0:5] doesn't seem to
work).

If you try to profile an array channel you get all of the elements at
once.  The only way to display individual elements would be to export to a
dummy channel for display.  For example, run the expression

disp=in[10];

When you want to display a different channel, you can leave "disp" as the
current display channel and rerun the expression with a different element.

These are only patches, but they seem to work OK.  It still doesn't get you
manipulation and filters across the array (rather than down it).  That
sounds like a requirement for a box of array-channel manipulation
tools.  Is this something Geosoft is working on, or should we pool our
resources and have some custom GXs made?  Are there any other users out
there who need this, or programmers who can write this?
