Ben, this is exactly my situation - evaluating an altitude grid for an aerial survey. I was even close to the right path. I just didn't understand how to use "Re-fid a Channel". Thanks for the prompt response.

David, we do this all the time to evaluate vertical navigation drape flight path grids along an ideal flight plan.... The trick is to make a "Distance" channel with "Utility/Make Distance Channel". The channel will have only two points, 0 and the distance to the endpoint. Now with "Utility/Re-fid a Channel", select the X coord as the first param, then say X1 as the resampled version, "Distance" as the fid reference and whatever sample interval you desire. The max gap can be left blank and the interp method can be linear of course. Repeat above step for Y/Y1. Backup original X,Y. Copy X1,Y1 to X,Y. Recalculate Distance channel to verify. Done.
