An interesting trick not in the documentation...
 
To position a symbol or line vertices exactly on a map without going to the trouble or creating a new database, do the following:
 
1.  Select a group, or create a new one, and make it editable.
2.  Select the symbol icon, or whatever.
3.  Move the cursor over the active map window and press <enter>.
 
This should be in the CAD section of the Tutorial manual, but it's not.
