Doug,As far as I know, there is no means of automatically generating grid points or lines within a polygon. I've been banging on about this for years but no functionality has been added to generate grid points. We do a lot of soil geochemical sampling and the ability to automatically generate variable patterns, spacing and orientations of grid points (lines) within a polygon would be very helpful.
