Hi Doug,

There doesn't seem to be a good link between Leapfrog and Geosoft. I use Gocad
for this type of thing.

In Leapfrog, you could export the model mesh as vertices for each lithology,
then import the point data into Geosoft. When you export vertices, the surface
mesh is irregular (based on triangles) and as such, your data points will be
irregularly spaced along the mesh and empty inside. You will have to perform
3D gridding within the voxel to populate the cells. You will also have to play
around with how the data is handled at the contacts as the gridded values will
be continuous rather than discrete. Direct gridding might work best. I
believe there is a numeric to lithology voxel conversion if you prefer to have
the lithology as codes rather than values.

Cheers,
Vicki

Hi

Just wondering if you can import 3D geological models from Leapfrog into
montaj? I have 3D lithological models in that format that I would like to turn
into geosoft voxels and use in voxi.

Thanks,
Doug
