Hello Tim

I would not expect that adding a user-specified grid cell size will considered
as an option, for the reasons specified below - it would require a different
algorithm, and there is nothing to be gained in terms of information content or
accuracy. A smaller grid cell size is just as likely to introduce artifacts
that do not represent the original data., but you are welcome to lobby your
account rep. In the end, those decisions are not up to me!

Interpolation is already done automatically when the grid is displayed, whch
is why you don't see the data pixels in the map. May I enquire why you need a
different cell size?

Cheers,

Hi Stephen,
Thanks for getting back to me.

Is this an option that may be considered for future versions of the module?

Cheers,
Tom.

Hello Tom

At present there is no such option. The gridding method used in IP is rather
specialized; we grid along the diagonals to preserve the "classic" IP
pseudo-section features. Because of this we need to set the grid cell size to
be one-half the A-spacing (or the minimum A-spacing for variably spaced
surveys). There is nothing to be gained in terms of gridding information by
using a smaller cell size, as the gridding is being done at the data spacing.

If you really want a grid with more cells for whatever reason, you could use
the "Re-Grid a Grid" option under the "Grid and Image|Gridding" menu to set a
smaller cell size and use the output grids as a starting point.

Cheers,

Subject: [geonet] Gridding in IP GX

Hi,
I am using the IP GX for the first time.

I have successfully produced my pseudosections, but I would like to change the
cell size used for gridding, however I do not see any gridding options in the
menu.
Is there a way to specify a gridding cell size?

Thanks,
Tom.
