Dear list, I have some questions due to the integration of WMS tiles into geonode. My geonode integrates some external WMS with the GetCapabiltiesRequests (parameter DEFAULT_MAP_WMS). Some WMS want to use TileCache, but there is a problem with the overlay of the requested tiles.
I recognized that the geonode application requests different extents of tiles, so that the cached tiles on the server side doesn't fit exactly (coordinates are shifted somehow). The WMS with the TileCache integration provides the same tile resolution (tiles extent) like the Google Maps tiles. Here is an abstract of a the xml-file with the integration of the TileCache server. My second question is the request to request bigger tiles than the 256 x 256 tile pictures of an external WMS? If there is a large extent lots of tile requests will be sent to the external server. Is this possible? What do I have to configure in geonode or rather the external WMS TileCache? My third question is, is there a possiblity to turn off the the Caching? I know that I will lose the possiblity to reduce the load of the server, but how can I do this? I tried to set the parameter "tiled: false" in the layers in the parameter DEFAULT_MAP_WMS, but it doesn't had an effect. Kind regards & thanks for the answers -- Patrick Krejci
