Hi Ben,

#1. You can install the dependencies manually and then run install.sh
in the release package. I don't know anyone who has done it before
with that version of Ubuntu and Postgres.

http://docs.geonode.org/en/latest/deploy/install.html

#2. I would say the best time to revise the supported operating
systems by the packages is when 12.04 LTS comes out. At least that is
when I would like to spend the time creating a branch that uses
postgres 9.

That said, any patches are welcome. If you want to do it, you can
start by cloning github.com/GeoNode/geonode-deb and creating a branch
for your updates, changing the version of the postgres page in the
debian/control file and compiling and testing the package.

I have no idea how the Postgres 9.0, Postgis 2.0, etc is going to play
with GeoServer, GeoNetwork and the Django side. But you might be lucky
and have everything work by just switching.

Cheers,
Ariel
