If you want to generate your own deb it's a one line fix tot the geonode deb code. As seen here https://github.com/wildintellect/geonode-deb/commit/55f97cfd4bcf42912270e82ec346fe668cb74c06
Hopefully that will get applied and a new deb will be built and uploaded soon. Who normally does that?
