There are no other occurrences that I see - it appears to be unused.  Also, everything compiles fine.

You should search all of GEOS .cpp and .h files for occurrences of
the label 'ERROR'  and update them to eError.
Keep your finger crossed in doing so.

Note that existing client source code might fail to build
against 2.2.2 due to this change, while already compiled
code should keep working. Acceptable for a micro upgrade ?
