There is a SWIG extension for Pyhton.

If using head, building the extension is part of the build process on *nix machines.

If using 2.2 or 2.3 or windows you'll have to build it yourself. Some instructions for building a Ruby extension are here:

Building the python extension works the same way, just substitute the right header files/libraries.
