#531: UnaryUnion of an line collapsed to a point returns EMPTY ------------------------+--------------------------- Reporter: strk | Owner: geos-devel@… Type: defect | Status: closed Priority: major | Milestone: 3.8.0 Component: Default | Version: 3.3.3 Severity: Unassigned | Resolution: wontfix Keywords: | ------------------------+--------------------------- Changes (by pramsey):
* status: new => closed * resolution: => wontfix Comment: JTS does this too. Philosophically you can swing either way. Taken in isolation, returning a point makes perfect sense. But if I union a collection of linestrings, I probably want the not-a-line entries to just disappear (think, zero-length lines at the nodes of other real lines). I'm going to 'wontfix' this as it is long-standing behaviour and not obviously wrong, nor different from our reference base (JTS). -- Ticket URL: <https://trac.osgeo.org/geos/ticket/531#comment:6> GEOS <http://trac.osgeo.org/geos> GEOS (Geometry Engine - Open Source) is a C++ port of the Java Topology Suite (JTS).
