Sorry I've been so crappy about this process. It sounds like there are
no objections.
I've not heard anything back on the codehaus task I submitted, which
would let us redirect properly.
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/HAUS-1643 - if anyone wants to vote on
it or has other means of getting it accomplished.
In the meantime could someone with stronger admin rights on confluence
on codehaus than I but some sort of header on all the geoserver
pages/spaces that says 'content has moved to http://geoserver.org -
please update your bookmarks' or something like that?
thanks,
Chris

Hey all, sorry for being a bit opaque about this process, it kind of hit
right in the middle of a bunch of stuff. But you may have noticed that
the wiki is in transition from docs.codehaus.org to geoserver.org
This move has been planned for awhile, as geoserver.org has been set up
as the front page, replicating the wiki homepage, so that it would get a
high enough google rank so at least the homepage could easily transition
over.
That has happened, and in the meantime codehaus got very slow and
frustrating. So we got licenses to the confluence software and stood up
a version on our own server, replicating the content, so it's all on
geoserver.org.
Right now we have content in two locations, which is kind of confusion.
I'm inclined to move everything over to geoserver.org, but would like
to hear if there's any strenuous objection to that - I realize now I
probably should have put this through a GSIP process, just to be sure,
and I apologize for not doing that. But we can roll things back if
there's a good reason to. I think having it all under geoserver.org
looks a bit more professional, and gives us more control over the look
and feel.
So if there are no objections I'm hoping to continue the transition
over. Please edit on the new space, and we'll work on setting up
redirects and making it more obvious the content has moved.
best regards,
Chris
