A quick scalability profile shows that XSD.getSchema() seems to be a
synchonization bottleneck. Maybe the schema is not kept around and reparsed
each time? Anyways, before fixing this, fix the logging one, it shows to be a
worse synch issue than this (logging calls are synchronized)
