Yeah, hold off on announcing the KML stuff.  The other big thing is the 
new feature model and new catalog.  Of course users don't care about 
that, but you could say something like 'core improvements for GeoServer 
to grow in the future' or something like that.

Is csv/excel still an extension?

Also what's the state of the docs for the new features?  Don't want that 
to hold up the release, but for 1.7.1 we should be sure it's all well 
documented.
