I see in the wiki page you write the current root of the 1.7.x branch as
branches/1.7.x/
but in the 'end result' section you write it as
geoserver/

Are you proposing that the new root of the sources be
http://svn.codehaus.org/geoserver/branches/1.7.x/geoserver/source/
or
http://svn.codehaus.org/geoserver/branches/1.7.x/source/ ?

I am slightly ++ on the latter but mostly just looking for explicitness 
in the proposal.

Another comment: my first thought would have been to choose briefer 
names for the directories, like
geoserver/{src,docs,data}
Again, I don't have a strong opinion here but am just throwing it out 
there; short URLs are nice but this would be a pretty marginal difference.
