I came across one more thing. The name attributes on all the placemarks were set to the layer name. This behavior has changed a bit from version to version, so I think I may be missing a patch, but at best I'd get the fid anyway. I believe this is the reason stuff gets pruned and we can't find anything but the layers where I manually created all the styling etc. I think Google really wants a unique name for each of them, else there's no way to distinguish them in the results list. As a temporary fix, I've copied a title.ftl that puts the fid in the name tag on all of them, so at least they're unique. Mike: If you have time, can you pick some layers that you think make good examples and update their title.ftls ? Do it directly on the main geosearch instance, and let me know, I'll reload GeoServer and clear the gwc cache.
