GetMap Render fails for tiles with an invalid geometry

I am onsite today; and am running through a sample bug report. The team here
has been serving up out of PostGIS and they can watch tiles in OpenLayers fail
when GeoServer encounters an invalid geometry. It would be good to send
individual failures to the log rather than abandon the entire PNG tile. In
experimentation they found that SVG rendering format is still able to draw.
Easy workaroud is to fix the data.
