wms from geoserver projected incorrectly in openlayers

all my wms form geoserver (my own data and the data included in the package,
like topp:states) is projected incorrectly in the latest versions of the
openlayers api.
however if i use an over version of the openlayers api, projection is fine.
my data are local only, but this should give you a an idea:
