I am missing a bit of context here. What "url" are we taking about? Are 
we talking about any datastore conncetion parameter named "url".

As far as I know it has always just been pre filled with:

file:data/example.extension

There has never been a set structure under the "data" part of the data 
directory as far as i know. It has really just been a container for 
arbitrary directories containing files. This has been preserved for 2.0.

Apologies if i am missing something obvious.
