Hi all, Start of a new release cycle so lots to discuss, here goes:
* 1.7.6 release date Opinions here welcome. Mark has recently let us know that LisaSoft has generously given him some time to put toward stable GeoServer releases. Which means we can probably maintain the more or less monthly cycle we have in the past. 1.7.5 was released on June 09 so a monthly cycle puts us overdue at July 09. However given the unofficial ok to drop back the release cycle to every two months we would be scheduled for a release Aug 09. We should probably just make this Marks decisions since he has volunteered up some time. However since I coincidently ;) am working in the same office as him at the moment it might make sense to do the release sooner so i can walk him through the first time, since it is a bit of a process. Luckily we have been putting in some good effort into the release docs lately so they are pretty good. * 2.0-rc1 release date While on the topic of release dates what do people think about a time to release 2.0-rc1? I preemptively marked it for just over 2 weeks from now (Aug 3), how do people feel about that, too soon? too late? * 1.7.6 issue status update The following new features are schduled for 1.7.6 and are still open: - http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-2605, arnek GetCapabilities response for gwc - http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-2514, arneke GWC WMS tiling integration - http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-516, dwins Packages for Linux distros There are also a high priority improvement still open: - http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-2011, arneke Improve error logging profiles Arne, we seem to keep pushing this one back, should we just mark it as a won't fix or something. Or push it back into the void of 1.7.x * 2.0-rc1 issue status update - http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-2887, jdeolive port all extensions from 1.7.x to trunk - http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-3253, jdeolive Changing log level is not reflected until server restart If folks could reply with thoughts about release dates, and those with open issues assigned to them could give a quick status update would be great as well. -Justin -- Justin Deoliveira OpenGeo - http://opengeo.org Enterprise support for open source geospatial. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Enter the BlackBerry Developer Challenge This is your chance to win up to $100,000 in prizes!
