Session Timed Out, but Page Indicates Still Logged In

While the error message doesn't say as much, I assume the following message
means you need to log back into geoserver. "Sorry, your session timed out...
It looks like you waited too long to make that last change.if this continues to
happen, you should get in touch with your system administrator. Go back to the
home page and try again."
Weird thing is that according to the screen, I'm still logged in.
Would suggest that the login status says logout.
(Also would suggest error message include line that says something like, please
log in. )
