The GeoServer team is happy to announce the release of GeoServer 2.0.1,
now available for download from:

http://geoserver.org/display/GEOS/GeoServer+2.0.1

This release is the first bug-fix release of the 2.0 series with a wide
variety of improvements including:

  * Support for additional projections
  * More flexible and powerful Windows installer
  * Improvements to the usability of the Admin UI
  * Many small fixes reported by users
  * Security improvements

Of particular note to the last point is the addition of the REST API to
the security sub system. This ensures that GeoServer is able to secure
your data from access using both the OWS style service interfaces as
well as the RESTful services. More details on this feature can be found at:

http://docs.geoserver.org/2.0.x/en/user/security/sec_rest.html

We would like to thank all those who contributed bug reports, fixes,
patches, features and testing to make this release possible. Special
thanks go out to LISAsoft for making this release, ensuring that all
this work is available to our users in a timely manner.
