Hi all,

There has been some recent interest in supplementing our current version
control systems with a distributed versioning tool like mercurial or git
since they are much better at handling branches.

For a few months now I have been using git to manage code locally and
wanted to share my findings so I wrote them up the wiki. It is still
pretty rough but hopefully gets the general idea across and perhaps
start some discussion moving.
