Text rendering differently between 2.0.1 and 2.0.2 due to disagreement between
versions on how to handle <radius> of the <halo> element in SLD
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: GEOS-4032
URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-4032
Project: GeoServer
Issue Type: Bug
Affects Versions: 2.0.2
Environment: Ubuntu 8.0.4 LTS
JVM 1.6.0_17-b04
Apache Tomcat/6.0.26
Geoserver 2.0.2
Reporter: Gissur Þórhallsson
Assignee: Andrea Aime
Priority: Minor

I am upgrading from 2.0.1. to 2.0.2.
I cloned my data_directory and set up 2.0.2 alongside 2.0.1 with no ill
effects, except that I noticed that some text rendering was of much lower
quality in 2.0.2.
2.0.1 rendered one request like this: http://i.imgur.com/8DtXT.png
While 2.0.2 returned the same request like this: http://i.imgur.com/3TGuY.png
After poking around at the SLD I realized that it had to do with 2.0.2. and
2.0.1. not agreeing on how to render values of <radius> under <halo> in the SLD.
For some reason I needed to increase the radius from 0.5 (which worked fine in
2.0.1) to 1.2 to make it look more like I expected it to in 2.0.2.
I have enclosed a small subset of my data (shapefiles exported from postgis)
along with an offending request and unmodified SLD.
