FID is not unique but randomly generated by Geoserver

In Geoserver 1.7.5 it is possible to create a layer with unique FIDs based on a
view in PostGIS. The only thing you have to do is to name a column, in that
view as FID,GID or OID and make sure the values are unique.
In Geoserver 2.0.1 this doesnt work anymore.
Can this be fixed? This feature in Geoserver 1.7.5 is being exstensivly used by
us and after upgrading to Geoserver 2.0.1 we cant work with views anymore. This
has a serious impact on our GIS systems.
