This is a question for the users list.

In any case, you may try with a mark made out of TTF symbols... not sure
if that will work, never tried it out that way.

Oh, I suggest to use GeoSever 2.1 beta for these experiments, graphic
marks rendering has improved visibly in 2.1 beta.
