Looks good, Jody.

The build succeeded. Manual inspection of geoserver.war WEB-INF/lib 
showed gt-*-8-SNAPSHOT artifacts  and no from 2.8-SNAPSHOT. mvn 
dependency:tree in web/app also showed only gt-*-8-SNAPSHOT artifacts 
(no third-party dependencies that depend on 2.8.x).
