cannot choose layer to include in a layergroup

In my geoserver configuration existing two layers with the same name within
different workspaces. If I create a layergroup I am not able to include the
second layer. It is presented in this layer choose list but included in my
layergroup is the first layer with its name. It seems as if geoserver does not
take the workspace name into account.
