Edit Layer - Coordinate Reference Systems - Search facility does nothing

Selecting the Edit Layer - Declared SRS - Find button - opens a multi-page
Coordinate Systems list form. The search facility on this form appears to do
nothing when text is entered into it. If carriage return is pressed after text
entry a question dialog opens asking if you want to navigate away from this
page. Yes closes both the list form and the edit layer page - No returns to the
coordinate systems list but still unfiltered by the search entry. Tried
multiple searches using strings and numbers such as Pinang, Cassini, Malay,
3382. The specific data source was a PostGIS database but a Shape file source
showed the same problem
