The current javadoc states:
getTime() The list may contain {@link Date} or {@link DateRange} objects
getElevation() The list may contain {@link Date} or {@link NumberRange} objects
If the TIME or ELEVATION dimension is enabled, these lists may also contain
null. The presence of null means the DEFAULT value should be used.
