Description:

When styles are made a part of a workspace, they can no longer be used. This results in GeoServer returning NULL for all WMS requests to that layer. In the layer view, the style will show up as a broken link image (although, curiously, GetLegendGraphic will return appropriately).
Example test using sf:archsites (which uses point as the default style):
1.) Open layer editor for sf:archsites; click Publishing tab; see that the default style shows a small, filled, red circle.
2.) Open style editor for point style; set workspace to sf.
3.) Return to layer editor for sf:archsites; click Publishing tab; see that the default style is now a broken image (even though it is still set to point, and point still appears in the list).
