I would be interested in being part of this committee as a user (cant guarantee to keep out of the code though, especially geotools). I have been using Geoserver since 2008 and I am responsible for our largest front-facing website (http://data.gns.cri.nz/pbe) although geoserver is used to power other smaller projects. I have also installed it for other institutions and I am keenly interested in its future direction.
