Hey Jesse,
Yeah, it only exists for wms since at the time that was the requirement.
But I think the same interface could work well enough for the other
services as well.
My general approach would be to try and factor out a more general interface
from the current ExtendedCapabilitiesProvider that lives in the wms module,
make it generic in terms of service, etc... Probably throwing the new
interface in the main module. Then deprecate the wms specific interface in
favor of the new one.
Finally it would be a matter of just updating of the capabilities
operations to process the new etension point the same way wms does now.
